Welcome to Carolina Integrative Counseling (CIC), where we pride ourselves on providing compassionate care through an integrative, multi-modal approach. At CIC, we understand that mental well-being is a complex and unique journey for each person. Stephanie Powell

Meet Stephanie. Stephanie graduated from UNCC with her MA degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a specialty in Addiction Counseling. Stephanie works with adults on a variety of issues including anxiety, depression, grief/loss, addiction, and other mental health concerns. Her focus is on a person-centered therapeutic approach while incorporating techniques from cognitive behavioral and mindfulness-based therapies. Stephanie strives to create a space where her clients can feel safe, feel seen, and be heard without judgement. When Stephanie is not in her chair, she enjoys traveling, reading, lego-ing, and spending time with her husband, step-children, and rescue pups.

Kaity Barnhill

Meet Kaity. Kaity graduated from UNCC with her MA degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a specialty in Addiction Counseling. Her focus is on a person-centered approach while tailoring therapeutic modalities to assist her clients (adolescents to adults) with a variety of issues, including anxiety, depression, and other mental health concerns. Currently, Kaity is working towards an additional certification in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy) to be able to meet the needs of more clients. Outside of her role as a Mental Health Counselor, Kaity enjoys spending time with her family, including her husband, daughter, and two golden retrievers.

Nikki Mahmutovic

Meet Nikki. Nikki graduated from UNCC with her MA degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a specialty in Addiction Counseling. Her focus is on a multimodal approach to accommodate the needs of each client, allowing them the ability to influence the direction of their own treatment. Nikki treats teens and adults with anxiety, depression, and other mental health and substance misuse concerns, as well as couples experiencing relationship discourse, co-dependency, and addiction. Nikki is actively training with The Gottman Institute to become a Certified Gottman Therapist. When Nikki isn’t counseling, she enjoys traveling with her husband and spending time with family and her german shepherd.

Meghan Snider

Meet Meghan. Meghan graduated from UNCC with her MA degree in communication studies. Meghan works hard behind the scenes to ensure insurance claims and billing issues are handled seamlessly for CIC. This allows our clients and our therapists to focus on the therapeutic healing journey. When she is not in the office working her billing magic, Meghan enjoys spending time with her family and giving extra love and all the attention to their newest addition, a little boy.
